Terminal 4 parking at a glance
Heathrow Terminal 4 parking is now a one-product operation. The Park & Ride on Scylla Road carries all T4 passenger parking; the multi-storey attached to the building, which housed Terminal Parking (the renamed Short Stay) and the Meet & Greet reception, closed on 23 June 2026 for a multi-year redevelopment of the T4 forecourts and car park. Valet, Priority Park & Ride, and the T5-only Pod Parking have never operated at T4. The September 2024 and 2025 renames (Long Stay to Park & Ride, Short Stay to Terminal Parking, Business to Priority Park & Ride) still shape the names you will see on older signs and third-party sites.

Pre-booked Park & Ride rates are typically much lower than the drive-up gate rate; pre-book on Heathrow's own site for the best price. Heathrow is inside the expanded ULEZ; a non-compliant vehicle pays £12.50 a day to drive to the airport regardless of where it parks. See ULEZ and Congestion Charge for the rules. Park & Ride at Terminal 4
Park & Ride at Terminal 4 sits on Scylla Road off the Southern Perimeter Road, postcode TW6 3XL. Unlike the T2/T3 Park & Ride (a shared site on the Eastern Perimeter Road), the T4 Park & Ride is its own dedicated facility serving only T4 traffic, and since 23 June 2026 it is the only place to park a car on-airport for a T4 flight.
Drive-up prices start at £46.80 for the first 24 hours and £37.40 for each additional 24 hours. Pre-booked online the daily rate drops to £11 to £15 a day depending on lead time. Since the multi-storey closed, the free shuttle has run every 5 minutes between 04:00 and 23:30, with the door-to-door transfer taking around 10 minutes. Outside the operating window, transfers run on request via 020 8745 6261. On return from your flight, follow the signs from the T4 arrivals hall to the Park & Ride shuttle stop on the forecourt.
Zone A, the parking zone next to the Park & Ride reception, is free for up to 2 hours. That makes it the answer to "where can I pick someone up at Terminal 4 for free", and a more generous answer than the other terminals get: drive in, park in Zone A, meet your passenger off the shuttle (or ride it to arrivals and back with them), and drive out inside 2 hours for nothing. The multi-storey closure: Terminal Parking and Meet & Greet
On 23 June 2026 Heathrow closed the multi-storey car park attached to the Terminal 4 building as part of a multi-year redevelopment of the T4 forecourts and car park. The building housed two products: Terminal Parking (the renamed Short Stay, a covered 2 to 5-minute walk from check-in) and the official Meet & Greet reception on its Level 2. Both left T4 together, and neither has a like-for-like replacement while the works run.
The practical consequences: there is no keys-handover parking product at T4 any more, and no covered walk-to-terminal car park. The T4-specific Meet & Greet arrangement (a reception on Level 2, handheld condition cameras rather than the fixed 360-degree set) is history. Anyone holding a booking for either product is contacted by Heathrow about alternatives. Terminal Parking and Meet & Greet continue as normal at Terminals 2, 3, and 5.
What still runs at the terminal itself: the kerbside drop-off forecourt, with the standard £7 charge and 10-minute cap, sat nav postcode TW6 3YD. For a stop of any length, the Park & Ride carries everything, with Zone A free for up to 2 hours. What is not at Terminal 4
Beyond the two products the redevelopment closed, three Heathrow parking products are offered at other terminals but have never been offered at T4.
Valet
The forecourt-drop product where the £7 drop-off charge is waived. Available at Terminals 2, 3, and 5 only. If you want a keys-handover service for a T4 flight, the only route is to book Valet or Meet & Greet at one of those terminals and use the free inter-terminal transfer to T4, which is rarely worth the time cost for a routine trip.
Priority Park & Ride (formerly Business)
The covered car park aimed at frequent travellers parking 1 to 5 nights, at higher business-traveller rates than Park & Ride. T4 has never had a Priority Park & Ride; this is a product gap rather than a closure. The T2/T3 Priority site is currently closed for operational reasons, leaving only the T5 site open. Pod Parking
The driverless electric Pod service is unique to Terminal 5 and does not run at T4. There is no equivalent at T4 because the Pod system runs on a dedicated guideway between T5's car park and the T5 building only.
Driving to Terminal 4: postcodes and access
Terminal 4 sits south of the main runway pair, on the Southern Perimeter Road. The terminal is reached via its own dedicated access road, separate from the central Boundary Tunnel route used for T2 and T3. There are no tolls on any Heathrow approach.
The two sat nav postcodes you need at T4:
- TW6 3XL for the Park & Ride on Scylla Road, off the Southern Perimeter Road. All T4 passenger parking since 23 June 2026. Take the shuttle to the terminal from there.
- TW6 3YD for the kerbside drop-off forecourt (£7 per entry, 10-minute cap). This postcode also used to serve the Terminal Parking multi-storey; that car park closed on 23 June 2026.
The terminal itself carries the address postcode TW6 3XA, which is used on signs and general correspondence; for driving, use the specific postcodes above.
From the M25
Exit at Junction 14, take the A3113 Airport Way exit signposted for Heathrow Airport and Terminal 4. Follow the signs through the next three sets of traffic lights onto the Southern Perimeter Road, and the Terminal 4 entrance is clearly signed. This is the standard approach from the M25 in either direction.
From the M4
The cleanest route is M4 westbound to Junction 4b, then the M25 anti-clockwise (south) to Junction 14, then the A3113 as above. Total extra distance compared with M25 J14 direct is small. Do not use M4 Junction 4 if heading for T4; that exit serves T2 and T3 via the central Boundary Tunnel, with no useful airside connection to T4 by car.
From central London
The most direct route from west London is the A4 and A30 westbound, joining the A3113 at the airport boundary; this avoids the M25 entirely. From south London, the M25 anti-clockwise to Junction 14 is the standard approach. The Heathrow postcode page covers every car park postcode at the airport.
How to choose for a T4 trip
With one product operating, the T4 decision is less about which car park and more about whether to park at all. The questions that still matter:
Are you collecting someone, or parking a car? For a collection, use Zone A at the Park & Ride: free for up to 2 hours, right next to the reception. Your passenger takes the free shuttle from the terminal (every 5 minutes, around 10 minutes door to door), or you ride in to meet them in arrivals. There is no charge as long as the car leaves Zone A inside 2 hours.
How long is the stay? Everything is Park & Ride now, so the question is gate rate versus pre-booked. A stay decided on the day pays £46.80 for the first 24 hours at the barrier; the same day pre-booked online is typically £11 to £15. For a week, pre-booking is the difference between roughly £80 and £270. Off-airport operators on the perimeter roads sometimes come in lower still, with the trade-off of a slower transfer.
How much does convenience matter? The shuttle adds around 10 minutes each way, and there is no way to buy past it at T4: no Valet, no Meet & Greet, no terminal-attached car park while the redevelopment runs. If a keys-handover service genuinely matters, book it at T2, T3, or T5 and weigh the inter-terminal connection time. For a pure drop with no parking, the forecourt costs £7 and is capped at 10 minutes.
The T4-specific facts that change the answer for some readers:
- The multi-storey is closed (since 23 June 2026, for a multi-year redevelopment). Terminal Parking and Meet & Greet went with it. Third-party sites and older sat nav entries still show them; on the ground, the Park & Ride is the only car park.
- No Valet and no Priority Park & Ride at T4, ever. These are product gaps, not closures. If you typically book either at other terminals, the T4 equivalent is the Park & Ride, pre-booked.
- Zone A gives 2 hours free, the most generous free window at any Heathrow terminal. For pick-ups, that removes the time pressure the 29-minute window creates elsewhere.
- Heathrow Express does not stop at T4. Less relevant to parking, but worth knowing: a return trip starting at T4 Park & Ride and continuing by HEX needs a change at the central Heathrow station via the free Elizabeth Line shuttle, around 5 minutes between stations.
Are you driving a non-compliant car? Heathrow sits inside the expanded ULEZ zone. A non-compliant vehicle pays £12.50 a day to drive to the airport regardless of where it parks.
